Record bank holiday as passengers jump 27.6%

Robin Hood Airport had its busiest bank holiday weekend ever last weekend. The airport saw a 27.6% increase in passengers over last year, with 19,805 people passing through the terminal.
The airport's managing director, David Ryall, said: 'I'm delighted with this significant increase in passengers. It demonstrates the impact Robin Hood Airport continues to have on the region.'
Steve Adamson, product development manager, added: 'We're looking ahead to the winter season where we will see more flights on the popular Spanish route of Alicante start in November with Ryanair, Thomsonfly will start 5 flights a week to Geneva in December, and by February, Wizz Air will be operating 12 flights a week to and from Poland.'
