Work starts on new airport hotel

Passengers will soon be able to jump out of bed and walk a short distance to the terminal to catch a flight at Robin Hood Airport after work began on a new £7million on-site hotel. The 103 bedroomed Ramada Encore hotel will open next summer and is located just 400 metres away from the terminal in the airport's business park.
Airport bosses believe the new hotel will be a useful addition to the airport's facilities, especially for passengers travelling from slightly further a field to catch flights from the hub. David Ryall, managing director at the airport, said: 'This is a great enhancement to airport's ever increasing offering.'
'The opening in 2008 of the first on site airport hotel will provide a useful base for both inbound tourists to the airport, as well as a useful facility for those who have travelled as far a field to catch a flight from Robin Hood.'
