Pets in South Yorkshire can now take to the skies thanks to Robin Hood Airport’s new clearance to operate the pet passport scheme. The airport has become one of only 6 in the country to allow animals to jet off with their owners after receiving approval from the Anglo European scheme.
The pets travel scheme is backed by the Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). Thomson are currently the only airline allowing pets to travel on their planes in comfort from Robin Hood and pets will need a valid pet passport.
Jodi Stow, marketing manager at Robin Hood Airport said: ‘We are thrilled to offer pets and their owners this fantastic service, enabling them both to fly from Robin Hood Airport. To be one of just six airports in the UK to be operating the pet passport scheme is a huge privilege. We hope that people in the region will benefit from such a unique convenience for their loved and cherished pets.’
