Council seeks contractor for link road

Work on the new link road between Robin Hood Airport and the M18 could start next summer after Doncaster Country Council began its search for a contractor to build the 4.4km Finningley and Rossington Regeneration Route Scheme (FARRRS), after securing Government funding earlier in the year.
The £50 million scheme won Government funding for its potential to encourage further development of the airport, the Strategic Rail Freight Interchange proposal adjacent to Junction 3 of the M18, as well as the reclamation of Rossington Colliery, where a new 'eco-village' will be built after coal deposits are cleared.
