Masterplan update
19.09.08
A draft masterplan outlining the future development of Robin Hood Airport is unlikely to include any radical changes over the next decade. With heavy losses expected until 2010, management say the focus is on long-term development of the hub.
Owners Peel Holdings presented an update on plans for future development at Robinh Hood Airport to Doncaster Council's economy and enterprise panel last week. Proposals include plans for a large-scale freight integration site, an expanded aviation training centre, two housing developments and additional community facilities. A potential plot for a second airport hotel with a golf course has also been identified.
The 250-page draft masterplan is expected to be published early next month. It will be followed by a 3 month public consultation on the plans.
