OBE for Chairman of Robin Hood Airport Consultative Committee

Alan Claude Tolhurst, chairman of the Robin Hood Airport Consultative Committee, has been awarded an OBE for voluntary service to the community in South Yorkshire in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
Mr Tolhurst served for 31 years with the RAF. He retired in 1988 after years commanding a Hercules transport aircraft squadron as well as the largest RAF flying training station. His previous appointments include having overall responsibility for organising, funding and running the World Student Games in Sheffield in 1991, and being chairman of the former North Nottinghamshire Health Authority.
He was Deputy Lieutenant for South Yorkshire and founded his own consultancy company specialising in career development. He is also chairman of Rotherham PCT.
