Security issue raised

A security issue has been raised at Robin Hood Airport, after a woman was allowed to baord a flight carrying scalpel blades. An investigation was launched after the passenger claimed she was able to take scalpel blades on board a plane at the airport, despite increased security measures intorduced last month.
Passenger Dianne Hall claims she mistakenly took the blades through two airport checkpoints when returning home from a holiday in Jersey. She was travelling home with six-year-old daughter Megan, and mother-in-law Anne Hall when they went through rigorous security checks at both St. Helier airport in Jersey and Robin Hood Airport.
Mrs Hall, discovered she had left scalpel blades in her bag during the flight. Security at both Robin Hood Airport and St. Helier at Jersey had missed the potentially lethal weapons. At Robin Hood Airport the security machine had triggered beeps at the handbag, but it was passed off by thinking it was a tin of sweets and security did not investigate the bag.
A spokesman for the airport said: 'We are taking this matter seriously and there will be a full investigation.'
