Official opening for airport access road

Local MP Caroline Flint has opened a new Robin Hood Airport access road that will ease traffic worries for her constituents. The road links Hurst Lane to the terminal and it was officially opened earlier this week.
The road from Hurst Lane to the terminal roundabout will provide quicker access to the airport and take traffic away from residential roads in Auckley. It is the first stage of improved access to the terminal. However, campaigners are still awaiting news of a definite start date for the Finningley and Rossington Relief Road Scheme (FARRRS).
Ms Flint said: 'The access road is an important step in the development of Robin Hood Airport - beginning where a FARRRS link road would end and opening the way to new jobs and investment at the airport. It is a further sign that Robin Hood Airport is investing to deliver the jobs and growth that we expect.'
