Pilot praised over flight emergency

A pilot who dealt with flight emergency on a flight from Robin Hood Airport to Portugal has been praised for 'doing everything by the book'.
The emergency alert was triggered at Robin Hood Airport after the Boeing 737 plane hit a bird just after take off on Monday. The bird flew into the engine of the Thomsonfly flight to Faro, Portugal, on Monday.
Emergency crews were called to the scene and put on standby in case of any danger. Product Development and Communications Manager, Steve Adamson, explained why the emergency measures had to be taken. He said: 'The aircraft crew followed the procedure for such a situation and the aircraft landed safely at Robin Hood Airport soon afterwards.'
