Plane breakdown shuts airport

Flights were suspended at Robin Hood Airport yesterday after a private jet suffered a mechanical failure and came off the runway whilst taxiing. The Citation 10 jet had flown in from Luton Airport, but suffered a problem with its right undercarriage following a normal landing.
The incident happened at approximately 10:30. Fire and Rescue services stationed at the airport attended the executive jet but were soon to stand down and the two crew on board were uninjured. An investigation in to the incident has been launched, with an airport spokesman suggesting that there appeared to have been a problem with the jet's right undercarriage.
