08.06.10
Robin Hood Airport is celebrating a 13% increase in passengers during May, as over 96,000 people flew from the hub. Mike Morton, the airport's Director said: ‘The last few months have been a tumultuous time for the aviation industry, yet despite the disruption caused by the volcanic ash cloud, we are delighted to report a significant increase in passenger numbers.'
’New routes from easyJet and Aer Lingus have played a major role in this increase and we will be looking to build on these figures during the second half of 2010. Holidaymakers from across the region are also realising that it si much easier to fly from their local airport.'
