Crash landing closes runway

Emergency services were called to Robin Hood Airport yesterday after a light aircraft crash landed just after 10:00. The plane is understood to have been on a training flight from Leeds Bradford when the front wheel collapsed on landing.
There were two people on board the aircraft, neither of whom was hurt during the landing. However, the incident blocked the airport's runway for around one and a half hours, causing a flight from Dublin to be delayed, though not diverted.
The Air Accident Investgation Branch has been notified.
